Configuring SIP Trunks for 3CX

Creating a SIP trunk



First, open the account that you wish to create the SIP trunk for and open the VoIP Platforms page.
Then click on the "⋮" button on the right to show option and select "Add SIP Trunk".



Enter all the information for the SIP trunk. The help text under each field explains what each field does. For Default Caller ID, make sure you type a number that belongs or will belong to this account. Can buy a new number if needed. Click Save when done.



Once the new SIP trunk is saved it will open a details page which has all the details you need to enter into 3CX to create the trunk.

Assigning Numbers to the SIP Trunk

You can assign numbers to the trunk by buying new numbers from the available list, porting existing numbers in or by provisioning numbers already on the account to the new trunk.
All functions are available on the Phone Numbers page within an account.

Buying new numbers



To buy new numbers, from the Phone Numbers page click the "⋮" button on the right and then "Buy New umbers".
Then choose the Area from the filter section on the right and select Filter.



Select the numbers you want by ticking the options on the left.
Then select "Buy Selected Numbers" from the "Pick an action" list and click "Go".



Select the VoIP Platform "SIP Trunk" and then select the specific SIP Trunk that you want, there could be multiple on the same account.



These numbers are now purchased and provisioned to the trunk, ready for you to make a test call once you have added them to 3CX.

Porting Numbers



From the Phone Numbers page or Porting Orders page, click on the "⋮" button on the right and select "Porting Application Form". Once the porting form is submitted this will create a ticket in our system for the porting order, you won't see anything in the Porting Orders page right away. When placing the porting order, if you only have a single trunk we will assume that's where you want the numbers to go. If you have other instructions for the numbers, let us know on the porting order ticket.

Once the porting order has been entered by us into the portal, you will be able to view the porting order including the platform and trunk that the porting order will provision the numbers onto on the right hand side. Once the porting order has been approved by the losing service provider and is scheduled in, you will see the numbers in the Phone Numbers page with the status "Porting In".

Re-Provisioning Numbers



If you have numbers on the account that are provisioned to a different platform/trunk, you can re-provision them onto the new trunk.
From the Phone Numbers page, select the numbers you wish to re-provision on the left, then select "Provision Selected Numbers" and click "Go"



From the next page, select SIP Trunk from the platform and the trunk you wish for the SIP Trunk option. Then click "Provision Numbers".
You should now see the numbers are assigned to the right SIP Trunk on the Phone Numbers tab.
